Malawi relief hurricane Freddy

Help the Malawians recover from massive flooding

The longest-lasting (more than 38 days) ever cyclone Freddy has impacted our church planters and disciples in Malawi and Mozambique in a massive way. In some places it rained more than 300 mm in 24 hours.

Especially the South of Malawi has been hit. Our people in Monkey-Bay and Mangochi have been suffering from severe flooding that resulted in:

  1. Houses that washed away
  2. People dying
  3. Ruined crops/fields
  4. Broken roads

Around 150 of our people know have been affected. They don’t have a house anymore (or some of their houses are broken), don’t have a source of income as their harvests have been gone and as a result they don’t have anything to food.

The people are in dire need of:

  1. Food (maize flour, soya beans, sugar and salt)
  2. Blankets
  3. Barrels to transport water
  4. Bricks
  5. Timber
  6. Ironsheets for roofs on their houses

For $50 we can give five blankets to a family.

For $80 we can feed one family for about a month with a bag of 50 kg maize flour, soya beans, salt, sugar.

For $320 we can provide iron sheets to repair a house.
