East Pokot

The East Pokots are pastoral nomads who move with their livestock throughout Baringo County of Northwestern Kenya. They are animistic with many religious practices and rituals. Though many mission efforts have engaged the East Pokots, they are still considered unreached with the Gospel. Other issues keeping them neglected and hard to reach include harsh living conditions, no running water or electricity, violent cattle raiding and malnutrition from food scarcity and consistent droughts.

Key Leader

George Nyaundi

Our Eastern Africa Regional Leader, is married to Grace Boke Nyaundi and they have four boys and three girls. With a career spanning over two and a half decades, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work in pioneering business, leadership development, disciple making and church planting. George’s transformative journey began when a missionary family introduced him to Jesus in his Kenyan village, leading to a deepening passion for faith. He connected with All Nations in 2014 and since then has worked among the East Pokots to plant churches and businesses. He started his own barbershop near the East Pokots.

East Pokot
Reform Warriors from East Pokot

All Nations’ Kenyan fieldworker George has been focusing on church and pioneer business planting among the unreached East Pokots since 2016. Through a person of peace in the community, who was a former bandit, they started 9 churches with about 300 believers. This person of peace started telling the Gospel to young men in the community who often caused a lot of trouble. They stole cattle and often had fights with other tribes. Currently, 80 young men have come to faith. They are called the Reform Warriors. The group has shifted to keeping bees and selling honey, which has resulted in less fighting. George and his family are owners of a barber shop in Marigat where they live. This business helps them partly cover their expenses.
