In June, during a training for new Business for Movements facilitators in Tanzania, a leader named Odwori shared something in our classroom that I will never forget:
“I could travel from Uganda to be here because our tailoring shop is making enough money. I share Jesus with my customers, and through that we started several house churches.”
Odwori lives in Southeast Uganda, serving in a predominantly Muslim region. He and his wife run a small tailoring shop — a simple business that God is using in extraordinary ways.
Most of the unreached people groups live in the 10-40 window: the horn of Africa, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, China and other places of Southeast Asia. Most of these unreached people groups live in difficult environments and are poor.
One of the most effective ways to get access to these people is through business. We empower the people to become self-sustainable and use their business to make disciples and plant churches.

Starting a church through the business.
Mark 1:17 "Then Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men."" We help people to become fishers of men and make disciples and plant churches.
Many times church planters or disciple makers are helped by giving them a fish. We don't give a fish, but teach them how to fish. We teach disciple makers and church planters how so start Kingdom businesses and become self-sustainable.

Food aid feeds families for 2~3 weeks, but poverty returns.

Goat farming project gives milk, income, and stability for years.
Traditional:
Flying trainers overseas costs $3,000+, limited follow-up.

Raise up local trainers that provide local training and coaching is very cost effective, providing also continuous support.
