“I wish I had received this training five years ago!” said one participant at the close of our Pioneer Business Planting training in Pakistan. At the end of September, we had the privilege of equipping 65 Christians with different backgrounds with practical skills for launching Kingdom-centered businesses.
One pastor shared enthusiastically:
“At the beginning of the week, I thought, ‘I’m going to teach the people in my church how to start a business so they can give to the church.’ Now I have learned that I can start a business myself—and that every believer is a full-time servant of God.”
Another participant added:
“I always thought business was a worldly pursuit. But here I learned that business itself can be a powerful way to honor God and share His love with others!”
Hope Rising in a Challenging Environment
Pakistan is a nation rich in culture, community, and resilience. Yet many Christians—especially those who have newly decided to follow Jesus way of life—face significant social and economic challenges. This is why the work of Business for Movements is so important today. Instead of dependency, we focus on empowerment, helping believers discover their God-given abilities and take confident steps toward financial stability and spiritual impact.
Our national leader in Pakistan expressed it beautifully:
“In the past, our efforts relied too much on outside programs and funding. But today, we are investing in a healthier, more sustainable way. When resources enter our country, they should bear fruit right here—through business. Christians can learn to stand strong, build enterprises, and make disciples in everyday life.”
Training, Coaching, and Real Support
After the training, follow-up is already well underway. Each participant is working on a Business Model Canvas—a complete, one-page business plan—along with a family and business budget. Our coaches meet with them regularly, asking questions, offering guidance, and supporting practical implementation. To help them take the first step, we also provide small loans so they can launch their businesses with confidence.
A Story of Transformation: Oscar’s Journey
One inspiring participant is Oscar. As a pastor, he had long believed that ministry and business were two separate worlds. During the Pioneer Business Planting training, he discovered that every aspect of life—including business—can be an act of worship.
With this renewed vision, Oscar opened a small restaurant. What began as a simple roadside food stall, launched with just 2,000 rupees (about $6), grew within two months into a thriving eatery generating 65,000 rupees (about $200) in revenue. His business not only provides for his family, but also creates opportunities to build relationships and share God’s love with others.
A Future Filled With Possibility
Across Pakistan, Christians are discovering new opportunities, renewing their confidence, and stepping boldly into their callings. Through entrepreneurship, they are finding ways to support their families, contribute to their communities, and live out their faith in meaningful, visible ways.
The seeds being planted today—through training, coaching, and sustainable business development—are already bearing fruit. And this is only the beginning.
