From cereal store to chicken farm: One entrepreneur’s journey to success through Pioneer Business Planting Training

1 min read

3 months before Charles did the Pioneer Business Planting training in 2021 in Nairobi, he started a cereal store. He sells different kinds of cereals. Because of growing competition, Charles also added chicken feed, as well as electrical items, such as cables, lamps, etc., to his store. Through the Pioneer Business Planting training, he learned to do better bookkeeping and set money aside. The store is now doing fine. He sells 125 kg a week. A few weeks ago there was a break-in at his store. Because he had set aside money for emergencies, he was able to quickly buy stock and reopen the store. Currently, Charles is establishing a new business which involves the setup of a chicken farm.
